Project Messier
Project Messier is my journey to capture every object in the Messier Catalogue, documenting galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters across the night sky.

What is Messier?
The Messier Catalogue is a list of 110 bright deep-sky objects, including galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters. It was created in the 18th century by French astronomer Charles Messier to help comet hunters avoid mistaking these objects for comets. Today, it’s a popular observing list for astronomers and astrophotographers.

Fun Fact:
Objects like 'M31' (Andromeda Galaxy) are labelled with an "M" because they come from the Messier Catalogue. The number simply shows the order in which Charles Messier added each object to his list - not how bright or important it was

A growing collection of my completed Messier captures, documenting progress through the catalogue as new objects are added.
